5 Stars because to give it anything less would be a crime given my experience! We walked in on a fabulous Monday night with no reservation and were seated immediately in a prime spot outside looking out at beautiful Hannibal Square. The service was quick, attentive, genuinely Italian, and really friendly! I ordered bruschetta to start. It was really fabulous. The tomatoes were clearly freshly sliced as was the basil and it left me wanting more (4 pieces per order), so we got another order! I then ordered the lasagna and my fella got the salmon pasta (the Orecchiette al Salmone). I was impressed with how quickly everything came out. The dishes were presented beautifully. More than what you would expect for $20 dishes. My lasagna was heavy on the cheese and decadent as can be! It was the way I dream of lasagna tasting. I'm always sore when I find out a restaurant uses anise in their lasagna because I don't like the flavor and I took a risk here. But, it paid off and there was no odd licorice flavor. I also tried the salmon pasta and was blown away. The small half shells were cooked al dente (mmmm!) and it has flakes of salmon with added a smokey flavor to the sauce. It was a delight! We finished the meal off with the tangerine sorbet. It is imported from Italy and served in a tangerine half-skin! The presentation was impressive! I liked the sorbet as it was VERY tart and helped cut through the heavy pasta dish. I also had the pleasure of trying the limoncello cake and the homemade tiramisu- both were delicious, but I'd definitely go for the limoncello cake next time (I tend towards a tart dessert). The ambiance was romantic and I know I'll be back on more dates. A big, resounding thumbs up!

Armando's pizzeria is a great place...for pizza. I've been here a lot and I've tried all sorts of things but the thing that keeps me coming back is the 'za. I have felt like everything else is, well, OK. The pizza, however, is superb. My go to is the vegitalli: piled high with fresh arugula, it's a perfect and healthy (within reason...it's still pizza) option. Every specialty pizza I've tried is perfect. The crust is crunchy and doughy on the inside, while the toppings are all well blended. You really can't go wrong. Just stay away from the overpriced entrées. I've found them mostly disappointing, which is the only reason for 4/5 stars here. Keep in mind: it's called a Pizzeria for a reason. Don't go there expecting the duck pasta to be worth 30$+ they're asking.

Great pizza and salads and great service. The margarita pizza has fresh basil and fresh mozzarella. Very yummy!!

Stick with pizza. Main courses were underwhelming. My pasta reminded me of primary school lunch. Overdone pasta and bland sauce. The appetizers were ok and the atmosphere is nice. Stay basic.

The wife and i first drove by and asked what time did they open- the staff person said 11. We were .back at 10:52. We analyzed that menu for about 5 mins. That same staff person said excuse me as he walked by us. We were not feeling like they wanted our business. Went next door to Mi Tomatina and they said we open at 11:30 but we will be glad to seat you now! Great meal too.

We couldn't find fault in the food, service or ambiance. Spaghetti alla vongole was beautiful and the wine selection paired well with our selections. Great espresso, too! Our server was Hector and he was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and prompt. The atmosphere is lovely, if a bit understated. Five stars

Great locally owned restaurant. Use fresh ingredients, nothing processed, and u can tell in the flavors. Lived it. Nice location, great service, what more could I ask for. Will definitely be back.

How can I keep this short...We've been here a few times now and I swear it only seems to get better the more stuff we try. Amazing appetizers, beef carpaccio, antipasto, bruschetta, caprese, etc....The pastas are out of this world good. Comparable to Enzo's really. Haven't even tried the pizza yet but hear it is amazing. We cannot wait for the location to open in College Park!!! Hmmm I wonder about the review from Jack A. down there...perhaps the ss got cut off your name. For the other guy that thinks 105 dollars is too much to pay for an amazing meal...WITH a bottle of wine...go to Pizza Hut ya jerk! Don't change anything guys. Always amazing!!!

We were wandering around Winter Park Sunday afternoon and stumbled upon this adorable little place. The vibe is so comfortable and clean. For a second I was sure we were brunching in little Italy. hector, our server was perfectly attentive, offering his advice in his favorite dishes. We had the chicken parmigiana and the eggplant Parmesan. Our meals and our tiramisu dessert were perfectly homemade and also affordable. A table across the way had the brick oven pizza which looked perfect. Can't wait to return and try the rest of the menu.

I come here for the pizza... It's crispy and wonderful. I love to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air in the fall. Great drinks too.

We hadn't visited Armando's in some time... the last visit was a little off, but that's been over a year. We took a friend who'd never been there and warned him that we'd had mixed experiences there. This restaurant is beautiful... nice seating under a canopy on the street, a beautiful white-washed dining room with rustic tables and chairs and a beautiful courtyard dining area out back. The entire restaurant has a very nice vibe to go along with the food. From the moment we were greeted... tonight was a 5-star experience. We were seated at a nice table inside and immediately greeted by our server Sayre. She was attentive without being overbearing. She made good suggestions for items without making us feel like we were being pushed. She also had a great sense of humor. I didn't want to eat a lot so I ordered the Carpaccio di Salmone from the Antipasti selections and the Insalata di Pomodora e Fagioli from the Insalata section. The Salmon was perfect... not fishy and the cheese & capers made it wonderful. The salad with Cannellini beans was also amazing. The fresh basil and other ingredients made this a wonderful taste explosion in my mouth. So good. My partner had the Tortellini de Zucco... this was a sweet, savory pasta dish. The flavors here were outstanding and very different from your staple pasta dishes. Our other dining companion had veal and I don't eat any kind of baby animals so I'll have to rely on his comments... he said it was amazing. We also had a cannoli and tiramisu. Both were good, but the cannoli was outstanding... a bit richer than other cannolis I've had in the past. We will be back and we'll ask for you, Sayre, again!

Armando's Pizzeria was recommended to me by two friends. I am glad I took their recommendation and tried it out. My friend and I stopped in for a dinner on a week night, and I was pretty surprised at how busy they were. It was a gorgeous night, so we opted to sit outside at one of their many outdoor tables. It was happy hour when we stopped in, so we were told that the beers were $2.00 cheaper. I sadly wasn't impressed by their selection. We decided to just order the Bianca pizza, and I am super glad we did! It was cheesy goodness!! I would come back just for this pizza. I felt the prices were a little higher than other pizzerias and the service was just so-so. But the AWESOME pizza made up for all of that!

Armando's is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always fantastic and the service is great. I love the mussels and salmon carpaccio. Their pizza is amazing! My now-husband and I love Armando's so much that we had our wedding reception in their private outdoor patio. The staff was amazing at setting everything up and serving our 55 guests a five course meal seamlessly. The food was FANTASTIC. They were super accommodating to every request we had. This is an all around great restaurant with a great atmosphere.

For casual or dressy always good and I can cook so I'm not as impressed with just food. Atmosphere, patio, bar all add to an already great food experience.

This restaurant is just ok. You can spent your money somewhere else like Prato, who has the best pizza in Orlando.

great ambiance!! and delicious food that you can enjoy while sitting in a beautiful venue!! The kitchen is open so that the customers can enjoy the show of seeing there meals being prepared. The only complain I have is that it is very hot inside the restaurant during summer time.

The best Italian food in Orlando & a must to experience! Armando & his team are all amazing!!! We are huge fans of his & since his early days in Orlando! Open up in Philly;-). Miss you my friend! Hugs;-) J, D & Siena

The pizza was underwhelming. Definitely not worth the almost $40 we paid for two pizzas. Both pizzas were completely tasteless. The service was good and the outdoor seating in nice. Next time I'd just come for a drink and appetizer.

Always excited to try a new place and this one had many good reviews. Sadly, we were disappointed. :( Had the Bruschetta Classica which was basically a bunch of cherry tomatoes on toast with a lot of basil and absolutely NO flavor. Pitiful. Fortunately for me, I only had a Caeser salad for dinner and it lacked flavor as well. My husband ordered the pasta with fungi. Blah. No garlic, needed salt or something, which when adding didn't help at all. The cannoli that was so raved about again had missing flavor. All it had was confectioners sugar and mascarpone. Blah again. Sorry, but I think they should rename this place Armand-NO's. (Our waiter, Jason, was great!)

Came here last night for a late night dinner with a friend. Got seated immediately on an outside table. The hostess was nice enough to mention there was a draft on the other side of the building, which helped us choose where exactly we wanted to sit. There was a slight miscommunication between our servers in the beginning, but that was quickly taken care of and the service the rest of the night was great. My friend ordered a glass of wine, which was a pretty full glass, and I ordered a martini off of their drink menu. The martini tasted good and had a nice kick to it as well. For a little over $9, the drink was well worth it. My friend ordered the Melenzone Rollate, which was stuffed eggplant. Her opinion of the dish was that it was fairly good, but not the best she has had. I ordered the Pollo Scarpariello. I thought my dish was quite good, especially with the pancetta, onions and mushrooms all cooked with the chicken in white wine butter garlic sauce. Overall my experience with Armando's was good, and it seems like a good spot not only for dinner, but a nice place to sit outside and grab a few drinks with some friends.

First of all you would think the place would be "snooty" and it is not! True authentic Italian cooking, the way it's supposed to be not just a pile of tomato sauce on some pasta. My Italian boyfriend and I say it if the BEST we have ever had in this area highly recommend it. Be advised it gets packed, especially when the weather is cooler, but they have a lot of outside seating. Very small bar inside and outside, but it is sufficient if you want to just hang out and "people" watching while having a beer or a cocktail. There is not one dish we have had that disappointed us. We tell everyone we can about it, and took my daughter and son in law there (they are both Chefs) and they LOVED it. The staff is the absolute best. Please try it.

This charming place saved my day. You know those days when you're running around with back-to-back meetings and appointments and you're struggling to just find a minute between each to breathe and re-align yourself? It was one of those days. I had a meeting down the block and walked down New England Avenue trying to find a decent place for a quick lunch (since "quick" was all the time I had). So, I went here, and it was my first time. First time, and after today-- not the last. The very sweet and awesome waitress, Loriana, was super understanding of my time crunch and put in my vegetarian panini order right away. It was done in - literally - 15 minutes. I even asked them to add kalamata olives and it was absolutely melty, savory and delicious. The bread was slightly buttery and soft and grilled, just like panini bread should be. Honestly, this was the best panini I've ever had. Don't hesitate about going here. Just go.

i wanted badly for this to be a 4 or 5 star review. but, it just wasn't. there were plenty of GOOD things...but a few meh things too. this place is lovely and you step in and feel happy immediately with the good smells and whitewashed walls. it does not feel like the old hot olives, which is nice. i hate when you go into a restaurant and it's like the last place that was there. we made a reservation for six and were seated promptly. then, after we had our drinks, we were asked to move to another table. a wobbly, smaller table. so...that wasn't awesome. got a BUNCH of food. the ahi tuna appetizer was a bit under seasoned and sauced...so, a little dry and boring. the bruschetta is legit. and the caprese is tasty, although standard. the pizzas are very good, nice crust. the pollo vesuvio was nice, although the sauce leaves something to be desired. the lasagna seems to be pretty standard, but nice portion. and the ravioli fiorentina has awesome combo of flavors. biggest caveats are the service being a little...weird. maybe slow. and the fact that, while other reviewers tout "nothing is over $20!"...almost everything is around $20 (most of the pastas were $16-18), which feels a little high to me. overall, a very nice restaurant with decent food. just not bowled over.

While visiting my son at Rollins College, we had dinner at Armando's with some of his college friends. There are so many wonderful choices of eateries in Winter Park area but this is by far my favorite. They have a vast number of entrees, interesting specialty cocktails & a large selection of wines. The entire wait staff are knowledgable & very personable. Our waitress just came back from visiting family in Italy and I could have listened to her speak all night, absolutely beautiful Italian accent! It was a very busy evening but we never felt rushed. A perfect evening!

Lovely, such amazing, fresh made Italian food! I dined on the porch on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. The service was pretty good, a little slow but what he lacked in speed, he made up for in passion of the Italian culture. The mozzarella and tomato app can be subbed with olive oil instead of balsamic, like the REAL Italy suggests, I also suggest it! The pizza was pretty tasty, on the thin crust side and fresh. I loved the house salad too, great start to the meal and the pear shavings made the entire thing! Overall I loved dining here and can't wait to return. I also have to check out the inside, looked lovely. You can also have your doggie with you outside, love that!

Went here with a group of 8, and ordered a variety of food. The pasta dishes were really good, and my favorite was the Margherita Pizza. If you like a little kick to your dish ask for the Diablo sauce, and its a great topper. The tiramisu dessert was absolutely amazing....could eat that all night! Staff was courteous and friendly. Bar had some nice cocktails, made very well. Will be back!

It was okay but really pricey. About average for the area. I got a salad and a cannoli. Neither were something to write home about. I enjoyed them both until I saw the price on the cannoli. Service was slow and the waiter passed me up more then once when I was trying to get his attention. Probably wouldn't go again.

  • Sarah D.

Good food, but too pricey. I had the pumpkin ravioli (which has a different name on the menu) and it was suuuuper yummy. I was very impressed by the moscato, the best I've ever had hand down. Love the location, right of park ave, on a quiet little street. Nice place for special celebrations :)

  • Lewis H.

The setting: charming sidewalk café. Really great location for a relaxing meal. The food was good, not great. Prices reasonable. The waiter seemed to be more interested in chatting up young ladies than in providing service. After taking the check/credit card, he flat out disappeared. 25 minutes later, we were finally able to untangle ourselves from this place. Their system crashed, which happens. But instead of communicating that they had a problem (e.g. The system crashed and I can't run credit cards, would you like to pay by check or cash?), he flat out hid, hoping that the system would come back up someday. So, if you want a libation and have cash, go for it. If you want decent service, move on.

Armando's is located in Hannibal Square, just off Park Avenue in Winter park. (In the former Hot Olives spot, near Dexter's Winter Park.) We had a great first experience this weekend, dining with a large party for a friends birthday. Staff was very accommodating when my friend made the early dinner reservation for 15. Upon arriving, they happily took the birthday cake to the back, asking if it needed to be put in the fridge. Nice. The party arrived over 15-20 minutes- each new guest was promptly greeted, drink orders taken and delivered quickly. Suggestions were made on the menu, as it was a first visit for all of us. Wine menu had some great offerings by the glass and by the bottle. We started off with the Rose Cava and moved to a Chianti. Sitting near the bar, we saw some tasty drinks being created and the Blackberry Mojito looked amazing. Hubby and I enjoyed the house salad with pear and I ordered a wood fired pizza, he ordered the pasta with mussels. Raves for all of our choices! We split the house salad and it arrived in to separate bowls, nice touch- no extra charge. I enjoyed the Caprese pizza, with artichokes. ($14.95+1.50 for extra topping) The pizza crust was not too thick or thin, tender and cooked perfectly. I would have appreciated some more cheese and toppings, but when topped with some sprinkled parm, it was great. Nice sauce, for sure. Hubby loved his pasta, a nice portion of Orecchiette with Mussels, mushrooms and a flavorful garlic wine sauce. (15.95) Hubby would have been happy with a double portion. :) The Carne pizza was ordered by the Birthday boy, everything from chicken to sausage was on this pizza, but somehow it wasn't meat overload. His wife ordered the San Daniel pizza and commented how amazing the flavors were between the shaved cheeses, prosciutto and fresh arugula, (plenty of toppings on hers!) They also ordered the Caesar salad, which they said was delicious. I sampled the dressing, which had a nice salty zing to it from the anchovies. Pizzas and pastas dominated our table, with everyone thrilled with their choices and sampling from each-others plates. The evening ended with our B'day cake, along with coffee and espresso. Delicious! The checks were split up and the server made a point of showing each guest that 18% gratuity had been added to our checks. First time a server has taken a moment to point that out, it was appreciated. The place was packed by the time we left, with a line out the door. Reservations would be a must, even for a small party. I hope they get a website and menu online, soon!

Armando's is a delightful place to have either lunch or dinner. The fig prosciutto pizza is fantastic as well as the pumpkin ravioli and well, everything on the menu. The food is excellent - never had a bad meal after a dozen visits. The staff is very attentive and the owner is very Italian and an excellent wine sommelier. The quaint outside patio has great ambiance but sometimes my hubby & I just sit at the bar and chat with the bartender while having dinner. This is one of our favorite restaurants. Up there w/The Goblin Market in Mt Dora.

Unbelievable, went in about 9:15 pm after dinner at another establishment. Was looking to enjoy a dessert at Armondos. Waited forever at bar, got looks from 3 bartenders and a waiter but zero service. As we were leaving told hostess and the manger about wht happened and got a snarky remark from both. Crazy!! No wonder the ratings are so bad from other people. Guess i'm not the only one.

Haven't been in a year...Very disappointed. What happened? First bad, weak iced tea, that I was told by waiter they don't make themselves. What? Next the pizza used to be superb but tonight's was as tough as an old belt, and common. No longer are they making their pasta in house or desserts except the tiramisu. I won't be back.

I absolutely love this place, and recommend it to everyone who comes into town to visit. They are known for their brick oven pizza, and there's a reason why- it's so freaking good! I've liked everything I've had here from antipasti dishes, to the Caesar salad, to the pizzas and the pastas, and yes the tiramisu. I did wish the calamari appetizer to be cooked a little longer, though. It can get cramped inside at times, especially when it's too cold for the outdoor seating, and it can get loud, but the noise has never bothered me because I've always had such a great time at Armando's. I've sat both outside and inside, and the service is just as good. Don't forget to ask for the bread as they may not always bring it if you don't ask! I'm already making plans to go again soon!

Great place for pizza in Winter Park near the avenue, I like the pizza here better than Prato. Good crust. I also really like the Orecchiette with Mussels, mushrooms and a garlic wine sauce. Really good, mussels are out of the shell and easy to eat. Nice wines, we like sparklings and it was nice to have a few that we enjoy at home, available here. Salads are good, have never made it to dessert.

A late-evening, post-performance gathering in the Maitland area led us to Hannibal Square. Some wanted dinner, others just drinks and dessert (well, OK, maybe drinks as dessert). We stopped by another venue first, but the only table they had that could seat our party was outdoors ... and it was yet a bit too warm for that. Fortunately, Armando's was just a stone's throw away, and even more fortunately, a party our size had just finished, leaving an already-set room perfect for our needs. Our server was attentive, the menu was appealing, and a grand time was had by all. We definitely will be back so we can relax and enjoy a full meal for two (instead of a party for 10).

I just wanted to update this...my mom called the restaurant to ask for a fax number (she wanted to send Armando a letter, but they don't have a website) and she was hung up on. Twice. My mom's letter simply said that he should treat people with kindness and she wanted an apology for the way we were treated and a refund on the champagne. What kind of a business hangs up on customers?! She didn't even say anything about who she was or why she was asking, they just hung up on her. And then once more. And then when she tried to call back they just didn't pick up. Nice. I don't appreciate the disrespect to my mother. Armando's sucks.

Wow. This place is great. I have no idea why the reviews aren't better. I have not had a better dining experience in Orlando in a long time. I went to Armando's last night for a birthday party. I had never been before. From the moment I walked up I knew this place would be great. There is plenty of outdoor seating and they even block off the street for extra seating. The ambiance is fantastic and the open kitchen is even better. The servers are attentive, but can be a little slow at times (not a problem though.) I ordered the Chilean Sauvignon Blanc to start and it was fruity and refreshing. For an appetizer I ordered the Calamari, it was fresh and severed with a delcious marinara sauce (I am difficult to please when it comes to my marinara sauce!) The Cesar Salad is authentic and even comes with anchovies. Customers are also served fresh warm bread and oil with their meals. For dinner I ordered a pizza and was in food heaven. The pizza was crispy and served with fresh arugula, fontina cheese, and prosciutto. I got a chance to try my friend's dinners and was equally in love with what they had ordered. It does not get any better than this, especially in Orlando. I will definitely be back soon.

Armando's at Hannibal Square has done a fine job in renovating the old Hot Olives space, enclosing the old verandah, yet maintaining an open, airy and inviting atmosphere with white walls and white curtains, simple rustic dark-wood tables and two attractive bars, one with a nice view of the open kitchen area. A basket of toasted bread starts the meal. I loved the sautéed Calamari Luciana in a light tomato sauce. The entree I selected was a salmon panini with onions and capers, served with a well-designed salad which included arugula, baby spinach and other delights. I ended my meal with a ricotta cake recommended by my very accommodating and friendly waiter William (Guglielmo, I assume) and a delicious cappuccino. I'm almost never highly-enthusiastic over Italian restaurants, as there is one on every other corner, but Armando's surprised and delighted me. This is the real thing.

Enjoyed our lunch at Armando's. We ordered the Ensalada de la Casa and thought the dressing and salad were good. The pizza with fig jam and prosciutto was plenty for two and full of flavor. We like the sweet and salty combination of flavors. The only suggestion I have is to cut the prosciutto in smaller pieces and it would be perfect. The outdoor dining with lots of fans is very relaxing on a very hot day. We appreciate how dog friendly this restaurant is.

By far one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area! Pasta has always come out exceptional and the pizza! OMG don't get me started on the Margherrita pizza with chicken is amazing!! I've always asked for the outdoor seating on a lovely Florida night. Being located in Hannibal Square allows Armando's to utilize the road which becomes block off at around 6pm to allow for street seating and dining. This offers a very unique and a very "authentic Italian" feel to the whole atmosphere. I've had big groups of 15 here and have been with a much smaller group and the staff have always been very accomodating. Parking is no sweat for this area and can be found in the side streets, Hannibal Square parking lots, parking garages, and along the main road. The dining environment inside can get a bit cramped on a really busy night but it's nothing I would ding them for! Armando is always out at the entrance welcoming guests and being super friendly. I recommend you stop by and say hi and maybe grab a pizza! They offer delievery as well as take out for those inclind to be in a rush!

The Pizza is Very good here, as are the wines, and if you want "fancy" dishes, they've got them, done very well, but it's the Spaghetti and MEATBALLS that keep me coming back. One of my favorites for outdoor seating, Friendly waitstaff. Gets Very busy at dinner, not a problem for me, but if you are a "type A", it might serve you well to eat before 6:30, or after 8:30 or so. Did I mention the Meatballs are Great?!!!

If you want delicious, authentic Italian style pizza, Armando's is the best place around. I always get the vegetali, which is divine- my favorite pizza! It has a wonderful ambiance- classy, yet rustic. All of the food I have tried is good, but the pizza is the best. And the wait staff is generally very nice. Now I didn't give that last star for a couple reasons: 1- the bathrooms, don't love 'em. The soap is too scented, and the water smells like sewer; and 2- some of the younger waiters wonder off for too long. Overall, this is one of my top recommendations in Winter Park.

Great food and casual atmosphere. Service is great and they are very attentive. Their pizzas have some very unique flavor combination. I suggest the mushroom pizza with the fried eggs on top. One of my favorite pizzas.

Had lunch here over the Labor Day weekend. We were seated quite quickly, even though it was a holiday weekend.. Waiter was quick to welcome us and to take our drink order. I ordered the Caesar Salad and then decided to have the pasta fagioli as my entrée. The Caesar was wonderful but the best was the pasta fagioli. This bowl of delight was full of pasta ears, white beans, tomatoes, celery and other assorted veggies, swimming in a huge bowl of wonderful broth, and I mean huge. This, undoubtedly, was the best pasta fagioli I have ever tasted. My lunch partner also had a Caesar Salad and then settled for the Marguerite Pizza with eggplant, tomato, basil, garlic and topped off with mozzarella. He thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a delightful meal. Excellent Italian restaurant in the center of Winter Park with inside and outside seating. Public parking nearby.

Eleven of us went here for a birthday party on Saturday night. The pro I can give for this place is the food was really good. I will say that portion size was smaller than similar Italian restaurants I've eaten at. I know that has been a common complaint with other reviewer. I found it was just right, portion wise, but if you are a big eater or like to take home leftovers this place may not be for you. Another complaint I had was we we're seated outside on the sidewalk. The table was at least 15 degrees off level. It was a little aggravating to deal with everything off kilter and dealing with the outside tempature in August in Orlando. Even though we had a reservation, it seemed like they threw this table together at the last second. Our biggest complaint was one of our servers, he was just bad! He started out rude in my opinion and he had a I'm getting my tip anyway mentality. One of our group had a food allergy that was told to this server prior to serving, He brought out her meal without leaving off the what causes her food allergy. He offered to replate instead of having it re done but it was touching everything else on the plate so she could not eat it. We had to get the manager to take care of this and fortunately we didn't have to deal with this waiter for the rest of the meal. It's a shame to get good food but have eleven people's meals ruined by lack of planning and bad service. We will not eat here again.

If you are expecting heavy Italian food, as it seems some of the negative reviewers were, this is not your place. Armando's is more than just pizza, although their pizza is a "must have" on the menu! Armando's is your traditional Naples style of menu with lots of fresh seafood dishes and delicious pizza, along with some more common Italian dishes peppered in. Their specials are something we always try. Tonight we had the Zuppa di Pesce and the Halibut served with capers, olives, tomatoes and spinach...almost a like a Putnesca sauce. We were blown away. My favorite appetizer is always the Calamari Luciano. The service at Armando's is always, always impeccable. We usually have William, but tonight we had Michael, and he went above and beyond to make our dinner quite an experience. Michael even took my 2 year old son on a tour of the kitchen and wine room when our entrees arrived...just to give us the opportunity to enjoy our first few bites. I really do feel like family each and every time we dine here. I love their outdoor seating on the sidewalk, and their private rooms and courtyard have been a great spot for my husband's corporate events. We have been raving about our dinner since we left the restaurant this evening...and I only wanted to share with the Yelp community what a wonderful gem Armando's is in Winter Park!

Ok, for $105.00 for two, IMO you can do a hell of a lot better elsewhere. Yeah the wine was $27 of the bill, which proved to be enjoyable. The "garden" dining area too was delightful with the propane heaters gassing the area into 70º's, and the 2" globe string lighting creating that warm expensive looking ambiance glow, but you know, when we are paying this much for a meal, there should be no doubt if it was worth it! The Bruschetta Classica was good to look at and a fair tasting experience. The four tapas comes out completely covered in halved cherry tomatoes on a 3/16" unusually textured toast, roasted red pepper and and stray greek olive topped with basil strips. Still haven't figured out the toast texture thing. Not crispy like toast but kinda stale-ish I guess. This really needed some cheese, garlic or something to make it truly POP - for us. Do again? Nah, not at $11.00.Mellow Mushroom has my heart for this entree. The bread and olive oil was nearly a Naaaah-thanks. The bread was warm and a good texture but to put the olive oil and balsamic vinegar in a small bowl?? for dipping?? is just bull chit inexperience? We found it nearly impossible to get any of that "bottom dwelling" balsamic onto our bread. Well when the oil is 1/2" deep that is. This condiment really should be served on a saucer folks, for dredging. Oil coated bread won't sop up much else, and to apply any pressure to facilitate the balsamic adhesion / absorption - well was unthinkable unless you wanted to "do your nails" in olive oil at the same time. So I'm convince the regular chef who has been creating all the 5 star rated entrees was off tonight. I ordered the Lasagna Carne and asked for a side of Italian Sausage. Loved the $5 sausage add! (I was advised the sausage would come from the pre sliced pizza components, which was fine.) Glad I supplemented the dish. The pasta lacked the desired al dente texture and the meat sauce was less than meaty or exciting. The cheese was barely adequate in quantity but also lacked the juice to pull this dish into a favorite category. Do again? Nah, not when BRAVO's! Mama's Lasagna Bolognese sets the bar as high as they have. Finally their Tiramisu -simply proved to be just watery, no mascarponie creaminess and seemed to be missing any nuance of rum. FLAT out disappointing.

This is a really lovely place to grab a bite and enjoy an evening. The food was good, but pricey. We had the salmon carpaccio , which was excellent, the fried calamari, which was good but fairly standard, and the fish entrees (we split the salmon and the mahi special), which were good but again fairly standard. I didn't love the bread that came out ahead (somehow it managed to be a bit dry and oily at the same time and without too much flavor) but the sangria was much better than average. Overall, I would come back.

As close to mom's kitchen as I've found in Orlando. This locally owned pasta pavilion boasts a menu of Italy's classic dishes cooked as they should be. A monthly gathering spot for one of my groups, the pizza is always bursting with flavor and the service impeccable. A recent office outing there was just as pleasant with the lunch menu delivering excellence in every bite. I'd highly recommend the calamari as an appitzer. The breading made it stand out as some of the best I've ever had and the salmon was fabulous!

Went to Armando's on Thursday for the first time, and one thing is for sure, I am not go back... Food was ok but service was horrible... We order a cheese platter to start with and It took about 15 minutes , really for cheese? Order a bottle of red wine which the temperature of it was very warm ... I did not say anything, I didn't want to ruin my friends Bday plus the server was hard to find, I even had to look for him to ask for the check... I can say he went to the table about five times that night (including to drop off the check) I order the ahi tuna and it was ok, not very memorable, friend #1 order pasta ravioli she said it was good.. and friend #2 order a pizza, which I think was the best of the 3 dishes.

We went to Armando's at the suggestion of close friends, who stated they were eating pizza their weekly. Armando's is situated where Hot Olives used to be, off of New England in Winter Park. The atmosphere was decent, and the restaurant was divided into three main sections: outdoor seating, main seating by a bar that serviced both the inside and outside, and then inside seating sectioned away from the main room. Our waiter was very friendly, and checked on us often. However, one of the more perturbing things about our experience was the wait staff not serving us. They congregated outside the kitchen, rolling silverware, talking loudly and "hanging out," which was actually quite a distraction. We sampled a variety of dishes, including a mozzarella pizza, some pasta, and a meatball. The food was tasty, and I would certainly have it again. The pizza crust is by far the best part of the pizza, and was delicious, and soft and crispy at the same time. Wine selection was good, but not so much on beer selection. Would I come here again? Yes. Are there better pizza and Italian restaurants in Central Florida? Probably.

I have lived in Orlando/Winter Park for 23 years and I have eaten at all of the best Italian restaurants in Central Florida. Armando's is my favorite of them all. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is awesome (Carlos is the best waiter). It is one of many jewels hidden in Winter Park.

A couple months ago I would have given Armando's 5 stars. After many meals there I found that the service is always great, the prices are right, and everything I have tried has been stellar- a variety of pizza, arugula salad, soups, and ravioli. Recently however, they changed their pizza crust recipe and I'm really bummed out. Previously, they had a Neapolitan style crust- simple, light, airy, and crisp- but in the past month or 2 they have switched to something that I suspect is not homemade and is extremely blahhh. It's very uniform in look and texture, and it's much thicker and breadier. I really can't stress enough how good the pizza was before, and how they have really made a mistake it pinching pennies with this new crust. I sincerely hope I'm not the only one airing this concern, and that they will return to the traditional, Neapolitan crust once again. Other than this complaint, I think everything else is great and I'm glad they are a new Winter Park option.

Met some friends on Friday night after work. As with all places near Park Ave, it was jumping. The weather just dipped below insufferable so we sat outside. Started with a Caprese salad which was fantastic. I ordered pizza, friend order calzone (huge, and delicious), the girls had pasta. Everything was cooked well and delicious. Service was just ok, and annoying at times. I ordered a bottled beer, the waiter poured it in a frosted glass in front of me and left the empty bottle on the already crowded table, thanks. When our pizza and pasta arrived, the salad plates were still on the table, to which they were pushed around by the runners, you know, to make room. Not a really big deal, but they aren't really big tables either. I'll still go back.

thank you again Armando's you were fantastic . Each time I have come to this establishment it keeps receiving high grades in service, food and overall appearance . Erica was our server and can't say enough about how she handled our table . If Erica is working the next time I am at Armando's it will be a good meal because she is tops at what she does. We stayed with the thing Armando's does very well, that is pizza . You can never go wrong with there pizza . Also we tried an appetizer of Itatian meats and vegetables which was also very good . For some reason I like sitting in back portion of the interior of restaurant . I think mainly if you have any traffic of servers and kitchen help, they will not be coming by your table in the quiet back corner . Erica , again you did the restaurant well .

Major WOW! I've recently heard some not really exciting things about the service in this restaurant but still wanted to give it a try tonight since the food's supposedly quite good. Guess what: Not going to happen since they don't accept reservations for only two people... Bad service before being anywhere close to the restaurant? Double thumbs DOWN! Sorry.

Awful, awful, awful......service is by far the worst I have ever had coming from a server myself through college. Pizza was dry, light on cheese and sauce. Had to wash down with a lot of water. Server made us very uncomfortable to the point we did not want to order any additional food or drinks. I actually ordered a pizza from Valdianos after my $136 tab. All 7 guest were disappointed and will not return. Portions were very small on entrees. Lasagna was cold but Mushroom ravioli was good. Nuff said!

From the moment you walk in to Armando's with its wide open and well lit space you know right away that they know what they are doing. It is a good Italian restaurant, a must go see! The owner owns Trattoria Tuscana - down the street in WP - and has for sure pulled out the stops. Not only has he invested a considerable amount into the experience, he parlayed his restaurant know how into a moderately priced - food for all - venue. Sandwiches, Pizza and great cuisine. Yet my favorite and most understated detail was decidedly hit on the head. Authenticity. The host was - Italian - the servers - mostly Italian - owner (yup) - if the Chef would have came out and introduced himself with a thick accent well, I think I would have seriously been floored. the Holy Trifecta. The menu never was pompous and awkwardly holding onto old world charms. It had a smattering of domestic and international wines as well as standard Italian drinks and faves. I started off with a Caprese salad and it was great. The presentation came on a long thin plate with a balsamic drizzle and superb Olive oil with beautiful thick slices of Mozzarella. I followed it up with a glass of super Tuscan and Pollo Scarpiolla (prob spelled wrong) that was excellent, and cooked perfect with peppers, capers, mushrooms and a white wine sauce. It was served with a side of pasta that while was just pasta, with it's olive oil and fresh Parmesan blanket, it just reached out ans yelled "feast on my carbness"! Damn pasta.... So halfway thru the scarp i had a glass of Lateiticia that was only $12 which is not bad compared to some places that range between 14 and $16. I ordered the cannoli but they were out of cannolis! I was a little confused, as I had my mind set on it as a lover of such- but then the server busts out with the profiteroles!! So Ya, the Owner is from Italy. I haven't had these - or seen these - in a very long time. They really are popular in Tuscany (where originated), but here in the states they are popular too, where they are served... Otherwise known as the Creme puff, lol! Overall: Authentic Great Price Points Attention to Presentation Ambiance Delicious! A top tier choice. Salute!

We visited armamdos on a sunday night, with a group of 9 ppl. Server was very rude in the beginning, was pushy about us ordering drinks where we were ok with soft drinks because everybody had to work early monday morning. He looked like he was high or drunk, did not remember who ordered what food!!! Placed the hot plate in middle of the table and asked that we just grab it ourselves. Pizza was burnt, and he tried to say its because they use a natural wood oven, when i showed him the black crust and complained about the burnt taste he tried to tell me the difference between wood oven and regular ones!!! And at the end, he grabbed my credit card, ran it and he just threw the card on the table with a pen. Worst food by far in winter park, with worst than food service. Stay awayyyyy

Armando's saves the night!! While opening our new store (The Wine Barn Winter Park) we desperately needed sustenance to continue working to get this place ready to open. We found Armandos nearby and got a large prosciutto, basil, and fig pie and a stromboli. Both were out of this world good!!! It goes without saying that the great food saved us all that night haha!! I'll definitely go back...

Four of us went to Armando's for the first time on a Sunday night. We were able to get a table outside right away. Unfortunately we were seated next to a large party (16-18 people), who were celebrating a birthday. They were so loud that we had a hard time having a conversation at our table. We ordered two Caesar salads, to split, and individual pizzas. We got bread right away, and the salads didn't take too long. The waiter presented the two salads to the men and gave each of the women a smaller plate. We were surprised that he couldn't have split the salads for us. We were also surprised that each salad had only two anchovies -- one for each person at the table, I guess. A little paltry. Then we waited what seemed like a very long time for our pizzas. The waiter finally said they were coming, and then maybe 10 minutes later one of them arrived. Each one came out separately, over a period of about 10 minutes. The waiter gave us no explanation until my husband asked, and then he said the kitchen was overwhelmed. The restaurant at that point was busy but not full. The pizza was good but not great. Mine had smoked salmon, fontina cheese and arugula. There was very little salmon. The crust was light, almost puffy -- a pleasant texture, but quite bland. The waiter didn't ask us if we wanted anything else and basically showed no interest in being pleasant. Maybe our sin was not to order drinks. In any case, we did not feel particularly welcome, and we left as soon as we could. I'd say this restaurant has a whole lot of fine-tuning to do. Too bad, because the indoor-outdoor setting is really nice.

I have been visiting this restaurant since it first opened so many months ago, and I am always brainwashed into ordering the pizza. Everything on the menu is delicious but the pizza just stands out for some reason. There is nothing more to be said, but I will take this Italian resturant over the other ones in the area any day.

Our first visit and the food was amazing! The mussels and white bean appetizer was a soup, which we didn't expect but gladly sopped up the broth with their excellent bread. Our ONLY complaint was the noise level. It may have been crazy because it was Valentines Day. The talking was beyond your normal "loud" level. Regardless, we'll definitely go back!!

This is the second time I have dined at Armandos. The first time I got pissed off that the waitress sold me a side salad and then charge me $7 for it. This second time I went there for work. We had a party of 25 and made reservations 3-weeks in advance. We told them that we wanted the back room so that we could have a bit more privacy. Well, they decide to sit us on the main dinning room floor because the back room had customers in it (a 2-top) and they didn't want us to "share the space" with them. Listen, if we told you 3-weeks in advance that we were coming at 5:30pm (right at the beginning of dinner) then you put reserve signs on your tables. Interestingly enough, a party 12 showed up 30 minutes later and I didn't realize it until then that the long table had already been set up for them. So they preferred to sit that party there instead of us. Not sure why but that kind of pissed me off. So they sat us in the main dinning room and my second (and biggest) complain is that there were FLIES ALL OVER the dinning room. Really...who can classify themselves as a great restaurant when they have flies all over the place. They were touching the food, drinks, people, every thing! It was disgusting. I felt as if I was dinning back in roadside restaurant in Ecuador. The food is good. We had the calamari appetizers, bruchetta, and some other item. They were all great. I ordered some pasta dish that came with mushroom. It was great...the sauce wasn't too heavy and I could tell it was fresh pasta. So the food is not the issue with this place. I think is very expensive...even when you come for lunch. My pasta was $15 which I guess is fine when you come for dinner but my first time when I came for lunch my total came to $20 (because of that stupid "side salad") In conclusion..my negatives were: 1) not so great service 2) FLIES ALL OVER 3) price

We love it here and make it our first stop after landing. Best Italian food I have found in Orlando. Atmosphere great, food fresh and delicious, staff wonderful and location perfect. I really love the ambiance here. The food is fantastic too. But the service always leaves something to be desired. Table service is usually mediocre, but the bar service is downright awful. I was frequenting Armando's once at week at one point. I really enjoy sitting at the indoor/outdoor bar area, but now can't bring myself to stop in because I don't want to be annoyed by the poor bar service.

We tried Armando's out last night figuring that on a Tuesday evening there would be less issues with service (as noted in other reviews) and wanting to check out the food. We were really disappointed in the food, it was run of the mill or less (we sent back the veal, it was dried out and tasteless). The pasta dishes were just OK, I would have expected much better from a place like this. The service was actually fine, and our request to exchange the veal for lasagna was handled with no hassle and our waiter was attentive and courteous. The setting itself is very nice but there are a lot of nice places in Winter Park that also deliver the goods with their food. I would recommend trying them out instead.

We went on a Saturday Night, with a large party. The company was great. The service was very on point. Amanda accommodated layered ordering, several rounds of drinks, and promptly brought me a cloth and club soda after I (inevitably) dropped some of that delicious red sauce on my shirt. We had a fantastic table outside. The food was excellent - great pasta, pizzas, and salads!

I had the worst experience here. In short, I had gone in to order take out and sat at the bar while I waited. The bartender was one of the rudest servers I have had in a while, did not get the order right and then blamed me for not being clear enough when I ordered. Armando was sitting two seats down from me talking to his employees as if they were complete garbage and them talking back to him in the same manner. The food was alright but nothing to write home about. Being a business owner in the Hannibal square area I will NOT be back to this establishment and will not be referring any of my clients here either. Being in the service industry myself I know what a tough economy is like and if they continue with this trend I don't see them lasting more than a year.. Such a shame considering how great his other restaurant is.

Before I even ordered, l was aleady a bit annoyed 1) waiter assumes my 2 children will want buttered noodles & 2) "the chef will not change any of the pizza recipes" (really? I don't consider pls hold the anchovies an outrageous or complicated request. Are they pre-made?). My salad with shaved pear was fine. The pizza with fig & gorgonzola (i.e. What the kids ate, for the record) had a beautiful crust & was quite good (if a bit heavy handed on the toppings. Flavor combo was great, but prosciutto was too thickly cut & fatty). Sadly, 2 ingredients spoiled an otherwise idyllic Sunday lunch: pretention & rudeness. tip: if "Shields" is your waiter, ask for a different table.

This place gets a solid 3 stars. Service could be a bit quicker, but the staff is really friendly. The pizza is good, but not great...and that is all I really had. I will go back, but the food only seems ok. The decor is nice and the outside area is great on a pleasant day. Check it out.

We tried Armando's on a whim. We ordered the Margarita pizza. It was a very good pizza, overall, except for the crust. I thought it was a little bland. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice and inviting. Others have complained about the service, but our waiter was very personable. I would definitely go back.

Food was OK, nothing special. My wife loved the chicken Marsala and my lasagna was something I can make at home. My beer came to me warm and I saw others going back to the bar warm too. Can't understand why a bartender can't tell a beer is not cold. The other person was right, I did see Armando talking down to his wait staff. Will go again but maybe just for a pizza and hopefully a cold beer.

I have eaten here several times and my good friend talks very highly of this place however last night me and five of my girlfriends went out for a nice ladies night here and Armando the owner couldn't be more rude to us. While waiting for my friends to show up he sat 4 of us and then approached us several times about where the other two ladies were and proceeded to say he needed one of the tables he sat us at. Mind you we had only been sitting down for 5 minutes before this started. After about the third time of him approaching us I was ready to walk out the door. It was the worst experience I have ever had! I was shocked and completely disgusted with the way we were treated. I do not recommend this place at all. If you want to have a nice dinner and enjoy the company you are with then go somewhere else!

I am so excited to FINALLY find an amazing Italian restaurant in Winter Park/Orlando!! I used to work at an amazing Italian restaurant, so I'm pretty critical. I usually order the Bolognese because, lets be honest, if they don't have good Bolognese, it can't be that great of an Italian place. Armando's did NOT disappoint! I highly recommend their Bolognese, and have been back several times. Though a bit pricey, I have never had a meal I didn't love! Added bonus: they have a great wine list and an even better happy hour!

Lovely atmosphere, food is good, service to be desired. I have never had Parmesan and crushed red pepper portioned out on my plate. The server asked if we wanted it and he brought a bowl of each and placed a spoonful on each of our plates. So what do we do with it now? I guess use our fingers to put it on the pizza? I would have been more than happy with a shaker. The uniforms are all white for an Italian restaurant...are you serious? I would have red sauce daily on my uniform. My first impression of the uniforms make me think the servers are from an institution. The patio is amazing and tiramasu is divine. They have a wood burning pizza oven, so the pizza is yummy!!!

Can't speak for all the reviews about bad service because I ordered the Margherita pizza to-go. Pizza was great, the fresh basil was the perfect counterpart to the rich, creamy mozzarella. The sauce was minimal (how I like it) - but tasted homemade which seems rare these days. I will definitely get this again.

My girlfriend and I went there for the first time. We tried to get a table outside, but it all was reserved, but the inside of the restaurant wasn't disappointing-part of the kitchen was visual and felt like we're in somebody's house, pretty cozy.. Our waiter was pretty nice and suggested us the fried calamari that was served with marinara sauce it was pretty good although the small portion for the price (around 10$). I ordered the veal with tomato and mushroom sauce (I cannot remember the name of the dish) that was pretty good, I could feel the quality of the ingredients-not too complicated but still good combination of them to create a simple but tasty dish. My girlfriend ordered the scallops and shrimp on wide pasta with tomato sauce, the shrimp was a meaty jumbo shrimp that was cooked to the right degree and so are the scallops. If you're looking for big portions plates, that it's not the place for you. We came hungry , ordered a dish each and it was enough, the dishes are definitely not to share, but the quality is great and I can tell there's a lot of heart in those dishes. The flavor is simple and good with no extras to make it "better" We left around 80$ for an appetizer, 2 dishes, dessert and 2 drinks-not that cheap, but we got "real" food.

An excellent meal every time! Great atmosphere, and I love the outside seating. Definitely try a pizza as an appetizer if you're with a group - the margarita is always a good choice, but if you're up for something a little different, try the fig and prosciutto one. I loved the eggplant dish on the lunch menu - a perfect lunchtime portion and a delicious meal. If you like mozzarella, the pumpkin croquettes are a scrumptious treat with smoked mozzarella inside! I can go on and on about the menu items I've enjoyed, but really you must try it for yourself.

I've been to Armando's three times, and I regret to say that I will not be returning. The first two times, the food was definitely above average but the service was AWFUL. My husband and I went there for dinner on a Thursday night without a reservation. We had no problem waiting for a table (we expect this without a reservation), so we put our name on the list and went to the bar to get a drink. It took the bartender over ten minutes to get to us, and another ten minutes to deliver our drinks. Once we were seated, we sat there for over twenty minutes before we were acknowledged. If we didn't have full drinks from the bar, we would have walked out. When our waiter finally came over, we ordered more drinks, an appetizer and a pizza to share. The appetizer came out fairly quickly and was delicious, but the drinks we ordered took longer than the appetizer! Finally our drinks arrived, and a little later, our pizza arrived. It was not the pizza we ordered. But at this point, we were ready for this whole experience to be over so we decided to just eat what we were given. The pizza was fantastic! However, the service was so poor that it ruined our meal. Our particular server was constantly flustered and seemed confused, and while I'd like to blame the poor service on the fact that maybe he was "new", after reading other reviews, it seems to just be the usual for this restaurant. It's a shame. Food is good and the location is great, but the poor service just cannot be overlooked.

Beautiful restaurant, but horrible service and food. I ordered Rigatoni pasta. The sauce tasted like it was out of a jar from the supermarket. I can cook my better food at my own home. My husband and I waited over an hour for our food and needless to say I was so disappointed when I received my meal. The waiter tried to be nice but he had no clue what he was doing. I expected better, and I will never return to this restaurant.

I visited on a Saturday night dinner hours. The food was average, but not for the price. The service was indifferent and marginal in professionalism. Sat outside on a table that slanted on an angle such that you would be concerned about something sliding off. Right near the hostess stand ...you know which one. The broccoli rabe (spelling?) appetizer served with sausage was servied on a 12-14 " rectangular plate which was crazy big for the 5" section being occupied by the food. Taking themselves too seriously in this case. The food was fine but a bit much on the red pepper flakes...what is it with those anyway? The waiter brought some as a topping for the pizza we ordered as an appetizer. The pizza was good - better than average. Anyway back to the crushed red pepper flakes...brought to the table in a 4-5" bowl which held enough of them for weeks of usage if not months.crazy. Also ordered Lasagna (portion way too small for an average male) and average at best in the flavor profile. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs and sausage - it was fine but nothing really that differentiated it from say an average Italian restaurant. Now for the service....I asked the waiter to box up the 1/2 pizza as we didn't finish it. He did so and he returned to our table appearing to look for a place to put it - I pointed to the pepper flakes and said we didn't need them (thinking if he took that away there would be room on the table). Instead , he apparently understood that I didn't want the pizza (you know the one I asked him to box up....yea I know), when I noticed what happened I went to correct him but he had gone somewhere out of sight, so I told the hostess about the mix up and she went to find him. He returned to the table saying he was sorry but had already thrown it out. We were out the 1/2 pizza as no effort was made to correct the mistake (offer to do another, take off bill, charge for 1/2 , etc.) . Nah, I won't be back to what again appears to be another restaurant in the Winter Park area that is taking themselves too seriously for the level of talent they provide. There did not appear to be anyone on the floor in charge either. Hard to believe - but your better off at Olive Garden.

Gave it one more shot, horrible experience once again. Owner was an ass hat, rushed us along the whole time and is a jerk to the diners and staff. Really nice looking place, too bad it is ruined by guy. STAY AWAY unless Armando is not there.

Friendly and attentive service in a relaxing yet upbeat atmosphere. Food looked great. Why two stars? Everything tasted like cigar smoke. Yes, this restaurant allows cigarette and cigar smoking in an environment where tables are very close together. Why an owner would allow a few inconsiderate guests to ruin the experience of all of the rest of their customers is a mystery. Hopefully they will see the light or become just another short term business.

Our server was pleasant enough, however our food took 45 minutes. We went on a wednesday night thinking we would avoid large crowds. The restaurant was busy but not crowded. We sat on the back dining patio which was lovely but we could not see the menu for the lack of lighting. We ordered a creme puff dessert which came out frozen, we sent it back. We started with 3 creme puffs but only 2 returned, and they were still frozen!!! When we mentioned this to the food runner he mentioned it to our waiter who simply said, "oh wow". We asked for them to be taken off the bill, the waiter looked dazed by our request, but the food runner quickly spoke up and said it was on him. We were celebrating a birthday and like to try new restaurants, we tried this when it was Hot Olives, never went back for it, and wont be back for Armandos.

We were an unexpected party of 12 the night before Thanksgiving... our service was awesome (kudos to Carlos), and the food delicious!! Fed our four starving children, two teenagers and six adults until we could not move!! Wine recommendation was top notch! Can't wait to go back and sit at the bar we passed as we went to the outdoor dining area in the back (which was beautiful and would be a great private party area!)

I gave Armando's a third try. TERRIBLE service again! I really wanted my experience to be good. The waiter had such an attitude. We asked to omit prosciutto on half a pizza and, he said NO without even asking the chefs! When he asked them, they said it was fine. Then I asked for my salad without onions. He said NO, it is already made (is anything made fresh?!). Then when I asked him what kind of onions they were, he rolled his eyes and said with an attitude, "Ughhhh, Spanish onions." I am sorry I annoyed you while doing your job! HORRIBLE and so rude. I did not order or eat anything, I was so turned off. I suggest getting take out if you want to eat here.

My husband and I love Armando's. It is never overwhelmingly crowded and their food quality is consistent. We always sit at the bar and depending on which bartender you get, you might alter your order, whereas some can't make a good LIT - but the sangria is always tasty. Great low-key date night every time!

I have been here twice since this place has opened and I highly suggest you go! The first time we went was the day after Valentines day so they were still busy, but were able to seat us immediately without a reservation. (If you read my reviews you will see a trend that for some reason I always forget reservations, wouldn't it be nice if you could make a reservation through Yelp!...any ways). We sat in the back courtyard which was cozy with cute lighting and a fire place. The downside...there was live entertainment. The musician was a young girl who was clearly very talented however, her parents kept coming to our table and asking us "she is good right? and Isn't she amazing?" Why yes, yes she is, however I would love to quietly enjoy my meal... We dined on the four cheese pizza and it is definitely in the top 5 best pizzas I have ever had. All of the cheeses meld together into a cheesy, tangy, perfection with light tomato sauce, and a medium crispy yet fluffy crust. LOVE. We also ordered at the servers suggestion the ahi tuna. NOT a fan and I love ahi tuna. This piece was chewy, fishy, and mean! We wanted to complain to our server but he didn't return for quite some time. We managed to eventually tell him how bad it was so he brought us a free tiramisu that was home made and Fantastic! OK so that made it a little better but $17 for that tuna was offensive... The second time I went to Armandos was last Sunday for brunch with a friend. We ordered a proscuitto pizza and the calamari. Again, both were FANTASTIC! The service was excellent, the food was perfect, oh and they have $3 Billinis on Sunday and I LOVE them! So I am fairly confident if you avoid the tuna and be careful where you sit, you will enjoy a beautiful fantastic meal at Armando's!!

If you're in the mood for really good Italian food, served by friendly waiters in a pretty cool space, Armando's is your place. The open-air feel and outdoor seating make it a destination spot if you're looking to dine al fresco when the weather finally cools down. And if you happen to sit inside, there's still a great atmosphere surrounding you - especially with direct views of the kitchen and wood-fired oven. We started our meal with the Insalata Fresca and were very happy with what we received - a large portion of arugula, cherry tomatoes and shaved asiago tossed in their house dressing. Next we split a pizza adorned with broccoli and the pappardelle pasta with a spicy red sauce combined with scallops and shrimp. Both were molto bene and had us wanting more. They offer a variety of specialty pastas and pizzas that are reminiscent of what you'd find in Italy. Though they have a multitude of create-your-own pizza toppings, they don't allow you to get one just on 1/2 of the pie unfortunately. And if price matters, their standard and wonderful margherita pizza is only $11. We were told their desserts are all made in house but happened to be too full to order one. Next time though, the Tiramisu has my name on it!

Stopped in for late Sunday afternoon drinks this weekend, and ordered a "snack" from the lunch menu -- this place was just what we were looking for! The decor is bright and open, and reminds you of what you love about sunny Florida days. They have a fairly small selection of wines by the glass, but the bottle prices are decent. My husband ordered the lasagna...the sauce was delicious, and we think the lasagna noodles might have been homemade (although we didn't ask). I ordered the sausage and rapini appetizer...so much flavor in such a tiny plate. I also noticed that there was a semi-private dining room that is perfect for a large group dinner. There was a small birthday celebration happening when we were there. We'll be back for sure!

This is by far my favorite Italian restaurant. The pasta is homemade and all ingredients are as fresh as they come! The ambiance is classy, rustic, and inviting. The side street is closed off during the evening so tables are placed on the cobblestone road. I truly felt that I was visiting another country :). My boyfriend and I have coined this our date night spot and it never seems to dissapoint!

Ambiance awesome, great location. We were a 3 top, got seated quickly, server was polite and on point. She didn't let us wait for anything, but didn't bother us either as we lingered over our meal. We ordered calamari, some vino (which the server recommended) and a pizza to share. The pizza was amazing! Loved the crust. I would definitely recommend dining here. Armando is a real Italian - from Italy, not NY, and he knows what Italian food should taste like. Bravo! I will be back.

Arrived here for lunch after checking out a sandwich place close by. Ordered pizza - quick and friendly service. Pizza was fresh tasting, fresh basil and real mozzarella aided the flavors. The amount of sauce was just right. Crust was perfectly done with a light crunch and just chewy inside. Overall, light and refreshing, not oily or heavy. World Cup on TV added ambiance to the already bright surroundings.

Won't be going back here. Wouldn't let us sub a side the server said: " it's Friday night our chef doesn't like us too change anything" The food wasn't that great neither was the service.

I just attended a large retirement party which was accommodated with ease even though we took up half the restaurant. Service was quick, and the food was great. The veal scallopini was so large that it looked like two full portions after cutting it in half. Wonderful limoncello cake.

We arrived no reservations on a Sunday night following commencement at Rollins. Started in the bar, while we awaited our table. The bartender recommended a decent and reasonably priced Super Tuscan and we sat down to order dinner. The sautéed calamari was delicious. Spicy, in a fra diavolo sauce and not over cooked. The pizza came recommended, but. Went with a split of a Caesar salad (extra anchovies on the side) and mushroom ravioli. Both were remarkable. The caesar was not over-soaked, but instead was crisp romaine and shaved parmigiana and an almost delicate dressing, if such can be said for a Caesar dressing. Just right. The ravioli was among the best I have ever had. Whether in US or Italy, it was perfect. Maybe a bit on the small side as entrees go, but so tender and flavorful as to be a standard for such future dishes. A small comment on the atmosphere and the staff...the bartender was busy, but accommodating once she could finally focus on us. The waitstaff were also helpful in ordering, and evaluating choices. One final note is that the restrooms were clean. The young man responsible for cleaning them was cheerful and pleasant and I actually looked for him after I emerged from the RR to tip him, though I could not locate him. He seemed to be proud of his work and I was anxious to thank him for his role in our most pleasant experience. All in all, a very nice dinner and interaction among the staff. I would certainly eat there again and recommend to others.

This place is great for a date, a night out with friends, or a business meeting. If the weather is nice, definitely try to sit outside. It's a little pricey for Italian food, but the ingredients are so fresh and the food so thoughtfully created that its hard to say it's not worth it. The flavors and textures are so clean and well thought out. You can really tell the chef put some time into getting the right ingredients and putting them together in the right combinations. However, at the end of the day, it's still Italian and basically a fresher version of things you've had many times before. This is not my favorite place to eat, but I'd surely go back. If I could, I'd give it about 3.5 stars.

We stopped by Armando's for an early lunch while in winter park and were overall satisfied with the experience. The decor and ambiance are great, a very relaxing feel. We ordered wine, the meat and vegetable plate, and a pizza to share. The food quality was high, we sat near the kitchen and loved the smell of the fresh basil they were prepping. I would be so much higher on this place if we'd had better service. Reading through earlier reviews it seems the service is hit or miss. We missed. The waiter did not smile once (well, he did smile when he dropped off the check), left wine and water glasses empty for long stretches, and just didn't appear to want to be at work that day. We are not picky people when it comes to service, but I do expect drinks to be refilled (or at least offer) and just be generally friendly. I waited tables all the way through college and have a full appreciation for what goes into it. Just freaking smile, its not that hard. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer here, the food really was good - we will likely try again sometime and would suggest that people go see for themselves. There is real potential at Armando's, a bit more consistent service would be the clincher.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
